Do things that make you happy. Too simple? Not really, many people forget what makes them happy. Do you like to draw, be athletic, sing? When was the last time you did that. Make time to do things you love.
Sometimes raising kids can be traumatic, even depressing. You're tired, under-appreciated, and sometimes just a little lost. Hearing, "enjoy it now, one day you're gonna miss it," when your teenage daughter just told you that she hates you for not allowing a boy/girl sleep over, (like that's a good idea), hardly feels comforting! But truth is, you WILL miss the constant traffic in your living room, heated teenage debates over the smallest issues and all those sticky hand prints all over the walls! True joy can be found even in the midst of a situation that seems depressing, hurtful or too hard. When it seems too hard, fight every urge you may have inside that tells you, you can't do this, and think....just breathe! I CAN do this! Remember, the marines don't have anything over on a Mom in the heat of a battle! Just step back.....earnestly look for and find the joy in EVERY situation before it escapes you. Let One on One Parenting help you put joy and laughter back into your home life...every minute of it.
